Department of Health Assistant Secretary Dr. Elmer Punzalan(left) and National Health Laboratory Network Overall Chairman Dr. Juanito Billote recently opened the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) Division of Laboratory Medicine as the latest addition to the DOH National Reference Laboratory. As a reference laboratory for pathology of cardiovascular diseases, the PHC now offers referral service for histopathology, special stains including special studies, gross dissection and examination, autopsy consultation for cardiovascular pathology and external quality assurance activities.
